The Joe W. and Dorothy Dorsett Brown Foundation has honored over 1,000 students and teachers from schools in New Orlean during a ceremony held at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner.
They awarded grants totaling $326,415 to schools in Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, and Washington parishes.
